The Mulls lighthouse has been in operation since 1830 providing a beacon at Scotlands most southerly point, which is also home to a large seabird colony. It is open to the public every weekend between Easter and October.
Dunskey Castle
The ruins of Dunskey Castle lie on cliffs overlooking the Irish Sea. A coastal path from Portpatrick will take you close to the castle, but it is closed to the public due to its dangerous location. The castle was built in the 17th century.
Wonderful gardens
The mild climate of the Mull of Galloway provides a vast array of flora and fauna. Ardwell Gardens lie around an 18th century estate with views over Luce Bay.
Logan Botanic Gardens has many exotic and tropical plants along with a cafe and tea room.
Portpatrick Harbour
Portparick is so named because of its proximity to Ireland and was once a busy port with frequent sailings to Ireland. Today its pretty harbour is host to fishing crafts and the Portpatrick lifeboat.
