The Mull of Kintyre is at the southwest tip of the Kintyre peninsula. It was made famous in a song by Paul McCartneys group wings. It is a beautiful and remote part of the country. Its lighthouse was built in 1788.
Ferry to the isles
Kintyre is a natural step to the isles of Islay, Jura, Arran and Gigha. Caledonian MacBrayne run ferries to all these destinations and also offer Island Hopper tickets for destinations further afield.
Kintyre Beaches
The remote region of Kintyre has 80 miles of clean, litter free beautiful beaches. They are an ideal place for walkers, surfers and windsurfers, with great sea views. The waters around kintyre are generally crystal clear.
Tarbert
Tarbert forms the gateway to the peninsula of Kintyre. It has shops and restaurants as wll as having many sporting, musical and other events. An active fishing harbour make sure you check out the seafood.
