Portree is the largest town on the Isle of Skye. It is built around a natural harbour and has lot of interesting things to see and do from boat trips to shopping, making it a good base.
Dunvegan Castle
Dunvegan Castle is open to the public between April and Mid October. Inside you will find many historic portraits and relics. Some parts of the castle date back to the 9th century.
Mealt waterfall
Mealt waterfall is fed from the nearby Loch Mealt. Its waters freefall 170ft off the cliffs into the Sound of Raasay. Nearby is the famous Kilt Rock whos cliffs are said to resemble a kilt.
The Old Man of Storr
The Old Man Of Storr is one of a number of strange shaped rock formations about 5 miles north of Portree. The walk to the Storr offers wonderful scenery and views of the sea.
