Catch a ferry

The ferry to Brodick from Ardrossan takes less than an hour and you are treated to the beautiful view of the Arran mountains. Ferry information is available on the Calmac site.

Lochranza Distillery

In the early 19th century Arran had more than 50 distilleries, most of them hidden and illegal. Today Arrans only distillery lies on the northern side of the island at at Lochranza.

Brodick Castle

Brodick Castle is located in picturesque gardens at the foot of Goatfell Mountain. Its roots go back to the 5th century. The castle is open to the public between April and October, and the gardens are open all year round.

Stone Circle

Picture
The Stone Circle on Machrie Moor dates back to around 1800 BC. The stones range to a height of around 18 feet. Remains of ancient circular huts are also found in the area.
